A vibrant graphic design poster or program cover for the Carlyle Marching Band show titled "THE RED BRICK ROAD." The design features a large, black treble clef symbol centered against a bright, yellow background with blurred, warm-toned bokeh lights. The lower part of the treble clef's loop is filled with a stylized red brick pattern, visually linking the musical theme with the title. The text, in black font, is positioned near the top right of the clef.

The 20 band members and six color guard members that make up the Carlyle High

School Marching Indians have showcased their field show during halftime at football games and

at two band competitions so far this season.

The title for this year's field show is The Redbrick Road, which is a twist on the Wizard

of Oz. The drum major for this year is senior Mary Ann Brown.

Music in the show includes “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” by Judy Garland, “Goodbye

Yellowbrick Road” by Elton John, and "No One Mourns the Wicked” from the Broadway

musical “Wicked”.

The color guard also performs during the field show. Their choreography is based on the

climax of the songs.

“It takes a lot of listening to the music and looking for the big moments. It’s like creating

your own synesthesia,” band director Madison Sanker said, “It’s seeing the music not just

hearing it.”

The field show also includes solos from a few band members. Junior Maggie Bass

performs a solo on the clarinet during “Goodbye Yellowbrick Road”, and sophomore Rachel

McDuffey performs a solo on the alto saxophone during “No One Mourns the Wicked”, junior

Olivia Abraham performs a solo on the synthesizer during “Somewhere Over the Rainbow”.

“The choice of music and theme for this year is my favorite thing about the field show. I

like the familiarity of the songs which makes it fun,” Olivia Abraham said.
