Students at Carlyle High School will participate in Homecoming Week from Oct. 13 to

Oct. 18.

The theme of homecoming this year at CHS is Take me to Rio said student council

adviser Sarah Loepker.

Each day entails something different, with a dress-up day to go with it.

Due to Columbus Day, the dress-up days will begin on Tuesday, but students will still be

in the building on Monday.

“Most students will spend their day off decorating their class hallway,” said the student

council executive president Cameryn Pollmann.

The dress-up days this year are Adam Sandler Day on Tuesday, Homecoming Shirt or

Tourist Day on Wednesday, Cribs vs. Canes on Thursday, where students dress as their assigned

age group, and Class Shirt Day on Friday.

While there are several sporting events during the week, the after-school activities begin

on Wednesday.

On Wednesday evening, the homecoming parade will take place. Each club, sports

team, and court members will ride on some sort of float for the town of Carlyle to see.

After the parade, the student council will host a bonfire night at the football field with

games, food, and a bonfire, according to Pollmann.

On Thursday night, student council members will kick off the start of the gym decorating

for the homecoming dance itself, and later that night, students are encouraged to attend the

rivalry pink-out volleyball game at Wesclin.

On Friday afternoon, students will participate in class games. Each grade level will

compete in various contests planned by the student council’s committee.

Friday night will end with another rivalry football game against Wesclin at Carlyle. In

addition to it being the third annual Tomahawk game, the homecoming game, seniors in band,

color guard, cheer, and football will be honored before the game starts at 7 p.m.

The week concludes with the homecoming dance and coronation on Saturday night.

Students will spend the night dancing and making memories with friends.

Doors open at 7 p.m. for students and 9 p.m. for parents to watch the coronation.

Tickets for the dance will be sold during early October during lunch.
