The Carlyle High School football team is currently preparing to play the third annual
Tomahawk Game on Oct.17 against Wesclin.
“This game shows the rivalry between the two schools with similar mascots,” said
running back Cameron Keller.
According to head football coach Nick Wolf, the Wesclin week is an intense week for the
players.
“There is always energy radiating during this week,” Wolf said.
The Tomahawk Game is a game the players care about.
“The Tomahawk Game is a game we have to win,” said offensive lineman Elliot Melton.
Quarterback and co-captain Zack Persing said the game has a special meaning for the
players.
“The game means a lot to us as players because it is senior night, the Tomahawk Game,
and our homecoming game,” Persing said.
Seniors will be honored before the game at approximately 6:45 p.m. and kick-off is at 7
p.m.
Homecoming queen candidates will be announced and the band will perform a modified
version of their field show during the extended halftime.
