All students in quarter two's Career and Technical Education careers class went to K and

J Chevrolet’s service department to help new drivers gain practical skills and confidence on the

road.

“We want to thank K and J Chevrolet for supporting CHS students,” said Bridget

McConnell.

The field trip allowed students to learn life lessons that the students can use in the future

since all students in attendance had just finished driver's education in quarter one.

“This trip helped me prepare for my future by teaching me important things about

vehicles and teaching me how to change a tire, and the skills will be able to help me if something

goes wrong with my car in the future,” freshman Gavin Curry said.

Several students spoke about the skills they learned when they returned to school.

“I learned how to jump-start a car and how to fully change a tire,” freshman Bentley

Davis said.

The new exploratory careers class, taught by Courtney Ibendahl and McConnell, focuses

on careers in technology, agriculture, construction, as well as many other career fields.
