The Carlyle High School FFS agronomy team placed first against 10 other teams in the
Section 21 Agronomy Career Development Event at Kaskaskia College on Nov. 19.
Team members included Cooper Diekemper, Ella Jordan, Sawyer Johnson, Ali Schubel,
and Olivia Wiegmann. Alternates included Dalton Apple, Kailyn Alexander, Avery Self, Alayna
Smith, and Samantha Vohlken.
Students also placed individually. Diekemper placed second. Jordan placed third.
Wiegmann placed fourth. Johnson placed fifth. Schubel placed sixth.
Team members had to identify 32 insects, 66 weeds, 41 seeds, judge four crop rings, and
take a written test of 25 questions out of 100 possible questions.
