Carlyle High School joined thousands of students nationwide to celebrate FBLA week, as

47 members showcased the leadership skills, networking, and passion that define the next

generation of professionals on Feb. 9-12.

“FBLA Week takes place during February as it is Career and Technical Education (CTE)

Month. We use this month to help celebrate organizations that prepare students for their future

careers,” adviserBridget McConnellsaid.

“During FBLA Week, we celebrate our students’ leadership development, career

readiness, and business skills. It also allows us to promote FBLA throughout our school and

recognize the hard work of our members,”Bridget McConnellsaid.

This year, FBLA week included a variety of activities, such as member appreciation day,

a field trip to Kaskaskia College, themed dress-up days, a tattoo-a-teacher fundraiser, a Feb.

FBLA meeting, and a guest speaker.

“My favorite part is seeing students get involved and taking pride in being part of

FBLA,” McConnell said.

The different dress-up days are Chapter Spirit Day, Dressed for Success Day, Pajama

Day, and We Love FBLA Day.

FBLA week is a great way to showcase how FBLA impacts students both inside and

outside the classroom.

“I enjoy the tattoo-a-teacher activity the most during FBLA week, because it’s going to

be fun to see some teachers with these tattoos,” Cooper Diekemper said.
