CHS building trades students attended the Home and Garden Show in St. Louis last
week. The event featured 172 different exhibitions.
Experts from local companies were in attendance to answer any questions the students
had and to share ideas and provide inspiration.
“Students got to see different construction materials and installation processes. These
included insulation, cabinets, roofing, and siding,” building trades teacher Jon Behrens said.
In addition to construction displays, they were able to get introduced to other materials
and processes that they are not exposed to in class
“Since it was the Home and Garden Show, there were also landscaping-type items there
as well,” said Behrens.
There were a total of 24 building trades students who attended the event.
“I enjoyed to learning new things about building trades with my friends and Mr.
Behrens,” junior Ella Jordan said.
