The Art Club will travel to Chicago on April 23-24 to visit the Art Institute of Chicago,
one of the nation’s leading art museums.
“The students are eligible to attend if they are in the art club and attend at least 50% of
the art club meetings,” art club adviser Emily Kaupang said.
The group chose the destination due to the museum’s reputation and collection, which
spans more than 5,000 years and includes works from around the world.
“I’m most excited about the train ride and to be able to explore all the new pieces being
displayed,” art club president Mary Ann Brown said.
The twenty-three club members will travel by Amtrak from Centralia to Chicago and see
the Millennium Park or the Wonder Museum in Chicago on Thursday before going to the Art
Institute on Friday.
Students will stay overnight and return the following evening after a day exploring the
museum’s exhibits.
