Spanish 3 is reading biographies of influential Hispanic people. Each day, one student in each group leads an activity related to one biography. Today, one group played mini-baseball for Roberto Clemente. Another group created constellations for María Reiche.

Today, the students in Spanish 4 and Life Skills teamed up to make arepas de queso. They were a hit!
Students in Life Skills class went to PetSmart to purchase a class pet using a Pets In The Classroom Grant. They worked within their budget to purchase the pet and supplies. Everyone please welcome River Blue the Betta fish!
Carlyle Indians Track & Field will be having an informational meeting for any 5th-12th grade students interested in joining the Track & Field High School or Jr. High teams on Thursday February 22nd at 5:30 PM in the Carlyle High School cafeteria. This meeting will be especially helpful for new members of the team or anyone undecided about joining the team.
Carlyle will play Pinckneyville on Wednesday, February 21st at 8:00 pm at the Breese Central Regional. All tickets are $5.00 and are general admission. Due to the large crowds expected on Wednesday, fans are highly encouraged to purchase tickets in advance. Wednesday night's games will be two separate admission games. Please don't arrive early unless you have a ticket for game 1. Advance tickets may be purchased in the Carlyle High School office today between the hours of 8:00 am and 3:00 pm and on Wednesday morning prior to 9:00 am.
A parade through town for our State Champion Preston Waughtel and State Runner Tyson Waughtel up will start at the high school at 2pm and take the normal route through town. Let's line the streets and show this young man how proud our community is of him.
Parade Route:
Start at high school, head south on 127 to Fairfax. Head east on Fairfax to 8th street. Turn right on 8th to Rt 50. Head west on Rt 50 to 4 way stop. Then head back north on 127 to high school.
Both Tyson & Preston Waughtel won their quarterfinal match at IHSA state Finals. They will both wrestle Friday night in their winners bracket semifinals. GOOD LUCK TYSON AND PRESTON!

Students in Life Skills class baked homemade Pop Tarts. They used heart shaped cookie cutters for a festive Valentine's treat. They were delicious!
Today was a great day for the CHS Student Council at the KDSC District Convention today. 3 students from Carlyle were elected to KDSC district offices: Media Specialist - Kate Schilling; Membership Coordinator - Makenna Reckling; and KDSC President - Jacie Persing!
