7/8 Grade SB/BB Parents: Wesclin cancelled the 7th grade SB/BB games for today. We have now decided to cancel the 8th grade SB/BB game vs. Okawville. There will be no practices for either team.
There will be a CJHS Cheerleading meeting for all students (5th-8th)interested in participating in cheerleading for the upcoming season. The meeting will be Friday at 7:40 AM in the CJHS library.
CJHS Cheerleading tryouts will be on Sept 4th and 5th from 6:00 to 7:30, and Monday the 9th from 3:30 to 5:00.

Reminder! The first PTO meeting of the year is tonight at 6:00 PM at the CJHS conference room. Please enter through the East (Gym) Entrance to the building. The conference room is to the left as you enter the building.
Tomorrow is Jersey/Team Apparel Day at CJHS! Represent your favorite sports team!

Next week on September 4th and 5th our school will welcome a representative from SAFE for a mandatory visit to discuss their core programs! These programs discuss topics such as healthy relationships, dating violence, sexting/cyberbullying, and forms of harassment and assault. This presentation (in accordance with Erin's Law) is age appropriate and will take two class sessions to complete. Your student will hear the presentations during their PE, Health or Keyboarding classes.
Handouts will be sent home with your student today. Please reference this letter for more information and send it back signed if you DO NOT wish your child to participate.

Due to the heat today there have been some changes to the Athletics Schedule today.
7th grade softball and 7th grade baseball will have a 6:00 start time (4:55 bus).
8th grade softball times remain as is.
Does water travel differently through soil than it does through sand? Be sure to ask your 5th grader!
The 5th grade science classes kicked off their first unit by creating a model of Earth! They will be learning all about Earth’s systems in the next few weeks!!

Carlyle Junior High School Open House will be tonight from 6:00-7:00 PM. All families should enter the building through the front (South) entrance. 7th and 8th grade students can pick up their schedules at the table to the right as you walk in (in front of the cafeteria) to the building. 5th and 6th grade schedules can be picked up at the table to the left (in front of the office) as you walk into the building. Student schedules will also have their locker number and combination. We are all excited to get the 2024-2025 school year going and hope to see you!
