Dear Parents/Guardians of CJHS:
As many of you have already heard, after much consideration I have decided to take another position and no longer be the principal at Carlyle Junior High beginning next semester (Jan. 3rd). My last day will be December 17, 2021.
I have truly enjoyed my time here in Carlyle and thank you all for the support and the kind words you have showed me over the last four years. It has been a pleasure to get to know your students and I wish them nothing but success in the future.
Although this was a very difficult decision, I am confident that with community support Carlyle Junior High and the District as a whole will continue to move in the right direction.
The district is still looking at options as to who will be the next person to fill the Junior High Principal role. When a replacement has been chosen we will share that information with you.
Thank you all so much.
Mr. Rainey

The Carlyle Jr. High School Pajama Program and Carlyle FFA are asking for the community’s help with the school’s annual Pajama Drive. The Pajama Program is a non-profit organization that provides new pajamas and books to children in need. Since 2009, our school has risen to the challenge and donated over two thousand pairs of new pajamas and Scholastic matched each pair with a new book donated directly to the Pajama Program.
Our school, once again, wants to be a part of this drive so that we can help make a better bedtime for these children. Together with the community, we can help the Pajama Drive reach even more kids with pajamas and books.
If you are able to participate, please bring in a new pair of pajamas to Carlyle Jr. High School by December 2nd. All sizes are needed -- from Newborn to Adult. If you have any questions, please call Mrs.Courtney Ibendahl at Carlyle Junior High at 618-594-2453 or email cibendahl@clinton.k12.il.us. Thank you for helping us share the gift of a good night’s sleep and a comforting bedtime story.

Ms. Ashley Smith finished her field experience in the 5th grade science classroom.
She is pursuing an Elementary Education degree at Greenville University.
Thank you for helping our students Ms. Smith!
