Biology 1 students are learning about elephants and how important they are to the ecosystem! 🐘

They modeled transect sampling using a landscape box and seeds to model the elephants. Transect sampling is a method used to estimate the total number of elephants living in a large area.

Later, they extracted seeds from elephant poop to compare how well those seeds grow compared to seeds that were never exposed to the elephant's digestive system.
